Prof. Rami Hamdallah Receives the Representative of Malta to the Palestinian National Authority
September 22nd. Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah University, received in his office at the Old Campus His Excellency Mr. Alan Bugeja, Representative of Malta to the Palestinian National Authority, accompanied by Dr. Carmen Sammut, Department of International Relations at the University of Malta. Attendees also included: President Assistant for Strategic and International Affairs, and Dr. Sam Alfoqahaa, Director of the Public Relations Department at An-Najah.
Prof. Hamdallah welcomed the Representative to An-Najah and presented to him a summary of the University, its academic programs, and its role in supporting the educational process in Palestine. He also expressed An-Najah’s interest in establishing cooperation agreements with different universities in Malta especially with respect to the field of medicine.
Moreover, he familiarized the guests with the level of development that the University has achieved recently seen through the many facilities and projects that have been introduced and implemented over the last years such as the new Teaching Hospital which will represent a substantial step in the advancement of medicine in Palestine.
Mr. Bugeja expressed his pleasure to visit An-Najah University and ensured his country’s willingness to establish close cooperation bonds with Palestinian universities and added that he is working on building strong cooperation relations with An-Najah.
Dr. Sammut expressed her interest in developing cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region since such cooperation will contribute to the reinforcement of relationships between the countries on both sides of the Mediterranean.
The guests also visited the New Campus where they were introduced to the different new facilities it has such as the Media Center and others. The Representative expressed admiration by the advancement that the University has achieved so far and valued An-Najah’s Administration for its continuous efforts to develop the University and provide its students with the best educational opportunities.
