Prof. Rami Hamdallah Receives a Feminist Delegation from the United States
June 21st. Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah University, received in his office at the Old Campus a delegation that consisted of a number of leading American women. At the beginning of the meeting Prof. Hamdallah welcomed the guests to the University and introduced them to its faculties, departments, scientific centers and the role it carries out to educate and provide education to the Palestinian youth.
Dr. Rabab Abdel Hadi from the Arab and Muslims Ethnicities and Diaspora Initiative thanked Prof. Hamdallah for his hospitality and spoke about the importance of the delegation and the type of participation that it makes. She also valued the President’s and University’s interest in meeting the delegation.
Moreover, every member in the delegation introduced herself and spoke about her interests and field of expertise. After that, Prof. Hamdallah spoke about the Master Degree program in Women Studies which was recently adopted at the University and will be taught soon. He also spoke about the importance of education to the Palestinian people and explained the necessity to develop the academic relationships and the role of the academic women in the society.
Finally, the President considered the delegation’s visit a strong sign of solidarity and support of the Palestinians in their quest to achieve peace and independence; he also hoped the guests would convey the message of peace to the American society upon their return to their country.
