Prof. Rami Hamdallah Meets with the Teaching Staff at the Faculty of Science
The Faculty of Science at An-Najah received Prof. Rami Hamdallah, the University President, in a meeting with the teaching staff at the Faculty. Attendees to the meeting included Prof. Maher Abu Eid, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sa’ed Al-Koni, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Sulaiman Khalil, Dean of the Faculty of Science, in addition to Heads of Departments, laboratories’ supervisors and members of the administrative staff at the Faculty.
In the meeting, Dr. Khalil welcomed Prof. Hamdallah to the Faculty and appreciated the great efforts that the President is making to serve higher education in Palestine. He also thanked the University’s administration for the great support that it offers to the Faculty of Science.
Prof. Hamdallah spoke about the different issues related to the University such as the restructuring of most of the faculties which would contribute to the development of the educational process to cope with the current global developments and advancements. He also spoke about the re-activation of some of the study fields that the local and Arab markets need.
Moreover, Prof. Hamdallah said that work on the Teaching Hospital is going as planned and mentioned that some of its parts will be concluded and would start to operate later this year. He added that the new hospital will replace the current National Hospital in Nablus and shall represent a substantial contribution to the medical field in Palestine.
He also spoke about the elections that are going to take place for the Students’ Union Council on the tenth week of the academic year 2012/2013.
