Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah University, met in his office at the Old Campus Dr. Yousef Abu Safieh, Chairman of the Environment Quality Authority in Palestine. Attendees to the meeting included Dr. Jalal Dabbeek, Coordinator of the Scientific Centers at An-Najah, Professor Marwan Haddad, Director of the Water and Environmental Studies Institute (WESI), and Dr. Sam Alfoqahaa, Director of the Public Relations Department.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Hamdallah welcomed the guest and his delegation to An-Najah and presented a brief summary about the University and the major role in plays in service of higher education in Palestine. A documentary was also screened which described the different phases of development the University has witnessed over the years.

The President also spoke about the Teaching Hospital, its importance and the contribution it shall make to the medical sector in Palestine through the wide and unique array of health services it is planned to offer to the Palestinians.

Dr. Aby Safieh said he is impressed by the advancement that the University has achieved on all levels and the substantial achievements it made locally, regionally and internationally. He also appreciated the University’s administration’s efforts to keep An-Najah in the lead as a unique educational institution.

Both sides further discussed prospects of mutual cooperation with respect to scientific research centers working in the field of environment, energy and water.
