Prof. Rami Hamdallah Inaugurates the Language Resource Center (LRC) at the University
Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah University, inaugurated the Language Resource Center (LRC) at the University which aims to open new prospects and opportunities for the University students and staff to learn the language they desire or need through a team of specialists.
Attendees included: Prof. Maher Abu Eid, Vice President for Academic Affairs, University President Assistant for Strategic and International Affairs, Professor Jawad Fatayer, University President Assistant for Graduate Affairs, Dr. Bilal Al-Shafi’i, Director of the LRC, Dr. Sam Alfoqahaa, Director of the Public Relations Department, in addition to a number of Faculties’ Deans and Directors of the University’s centers.
Dr. Al-Shafi’I said the new center will help students and researchers learn the language they desire through a specialized and dedicated staff from various countries. The LRC contains various resources that any language learner would need in his quest to learn a new language. It also includes a library that offers books and journals, in addition to electronic resources including films, recorded programs, CDs, and other materials that provide the learner with assistance in his learning process. The Center is also equipped with a large events hall, a cinema and lecture rooms.
Moreover, Dr. Al-Shafi’I thanked the University President for his generous support of the Center.
During the inauguration ceremony, the LRC staff delivered a presentation in which they explained the Center’s work, website, and the discussion sessions that it would include.
Prof. Hamdallah hoped that the LRC would contribute to serving the needs of the University’s students and staff, as well as the Palestinian society and assured that the University will continue to work on establishing and supporting such vital projects.
