Prof. Hamdallah Receives the Deans of Students’ Affairs at the Palestinian Universities
April 4th. An-Najah University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, received in his office at the Old Campus the deans of students’ affairs at the Palestinian universities including Al-Quds University, Al-Quds Open University, Birzeit University, Hebron University, Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron, Palestine Polytechnic University in Tulkarem, the Arab-American University and Bethlehem University.
During the meeting, Prof. Hamdallah welcomed the guests and thanked the deanships of students’ affairs at the different Palestinian universities for their major role in serving the students studying at the Palestinian universities. He also stressed the necessity to continue holding similar meetings.
Mr. Mousa Abu Dayyeh, Dean of Student’s Affairs at An-Najah University, said the participants in the meeting discussed the report of the committee responsible of the students’ loans file at the Palestinian universities. In addition, the report of the committee that is responsible for the voluntary work among the Palestinian universities was also discussed. The participants addressed the detainees festival which will be organized by Birzeit University.
Moreover, the participants discussed the joint cultural projects between universities in Palestine under the name “Palestine Culture Week”, as well as the exchange of visits and experience between students at the different Palestinian universities. Other subjects that were discussed in the meeting included: the mechanisms of implementing competitive contests between the universities in order to reinforce cooperation among these universities, the establishment of a unified system for the students’ councils, assigning a unified date for the elections of the students’ affairs councils at the different Palestinian universities.
Abu Dayyeh hoped that such meetings would continue in order to reinforce communication and contact between the deans of students’ affairs at the various Palestinian universities which would in turn serve the students and develop their creative skills.
The meeting also featured a short documentary about An-Najah University which described its history, the academic programs it offers and the most recent developments the University had.
After that, the guests visited the New Campus where they were introduced to the different facilities it has such as the Media Center, the library, the Sports Complex, the Prince Turki Bin Abdul Aziz Theater, Hikmat Al-Mari Amphitheater, the Korean-Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence…etc. The guests expressed their admiration by the level of development that An-Najah was able to achieve so far.
