President Rami Hamdallah received today morning at the University's Headquarters His Excellency the Turkish Ambassador to the Palestinian National Authority, Dr. Ercan Ozer, accompanied with his Commercial and  Cultural Attachés.

President Hamdallah said that the Ambassador's visit seeks to strengthen the links of cooperation and collaboration between the Turkish government and the University.  During the meeting, President Hamdallah and Dr. Ozer discussed the possibility of establishing joint relations in the fields of higher education.

"We discussed current relationships with Turkey in order discover what more might be done to further strengthen academic and research links between An-Najah and the Turkish universities," Prof. Hamdallah said.

Afterwards, the Ambassador gave a special lecture titled "Turkey's foreign policy in the Middle East." 

"It is evident that Turkey is striving to promote transparency, accountability and participation so that Turkey is not only associated with democracy but with good governance, he said.  "Its progress from a political, economical and social standpoint can truly be considered a profound example in the Middle East," noted the Turkish Ambassador.  "I have found indeed clever and open minded people here”, the Ambassador said.   The Ambassador's distinguished career includes 32-year diplomatic posts in Washington, Berlin, Amman and Dubai.
