HE. Mr. John Kjaer, Head of the European Commission Technical Office in the Palestinian Territories, accompanied by Ms. Judith Johannes, Cultural Attaché, paid a courtesy visit to the University today.  They were received by Professor Rami Hamdallah, University’s President, and University’s President Assistant for International Relations.The purpose of the visit was to bade farewell to the University’s President as HE. Kjaer’s ends his diplomatic service as Head of Mission this month.

President Hamadllah thanked Mr. Kjaer for his years of distinguished service as Head of Mission in Palestine and bid him farewell.  President Hamdallah also complimented Mr. Kjaer on his tenure and thanked him for his efforts to promote EU-Palestinian relations.

During the visit, President Hamdallah discussed with Mr. Kjaer the potentials for promoting academic and technical collaboration between An-Najah and European universities.  The two sides exchanged ideas in this regard and it was agreed that it is vital to invest more in strengthening ties of cooperation between European and Palestinian academic institutions.
The visiting delegation was also briefed on the University's new academic programs and was taken on a tour to Faculty of Fine Arts in the University’s New Campus. Mr. Kjaer expressed his admiration of what have been achieved and the level of education offered by the University in very few years since its inception in 1977. He wished the University success and prosperity.
