On February 14^th, His Excellency Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian National Authority, sent a letter of congratulation to the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah for the new ranking the University has received recently on February 2^nd 2011 by Webometrics (Ranking Web of World Universities) which ranked it first in Palestine, fifth in the Arab world and number 1011 globally amongst 20,000 universities.

President Abbas said that he was impressed by the University’s new ranking and valued the substantial efforts that the University staff and administration exerted to achieve such rank. He also hoped that the University would continue to achieve more ranks in the future and to develop further. Such ranks give the University an edge and serve as motivation for more development and success.
