In his visit to An Najah University, Dr. Sabri Saidam, PNA President Consultant for Technology and Communication Affairs honored three female students from the department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) at the University. The three students, Rana Dwaikat, Suha Odeh, and Hanin Abu Jaish, were able to develop a system that classifies political articles automatically. Honored also was Dr. Baker Khaldoun Abdulhaq, supervisor of the project and head of the Computer Information Systems Department at the University.
Dr. Saidam offered the students three laptops presented from Al Quds Bank in an effort to support and encourage the talented in Palestine, especially in the field of information technology. Participated in the event was Dr. Nafeth Abu Baker, Dr. Barbara Barry, artificial intelligence specialist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Shaker  Bitar, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Raed Qadi, President Assistant for IT Affairs, in addition to a number of instructors and students.
The three students presented the program to the audience who expressed their admiration by this high-tech, advanced project . Dr. Barry said that this program is a highly advanced and distinguished device. Dr. Saidam also highlighted the achievements that students of An Najah University were able to reach and said that this project is one to be supported. He finally called for the establishment of a Palestinian fund to support innovation and creativeness in Palestine.
