Preparing for the First International Conference on Public Relations in Palestine
On August 31st 2010, the Organizing Committee of the First International Conference on Public Relations which consists of Masters Company for Advertisement in <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Nablus</st1:place></st1:city>, Ugarit Company for Marketing and Media as well as Experts Company for Public Relations and Communication has organized a preparatory meeting in coordination with the University. The participants approved the time and place of the upcoming Public Relations Conference which will be November 29th 2010 at Prince Turki Bin Abdul Aziz Theater at the University's New Campus.

The organizers pointed out that the conference will be the first international forum to be held in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Palestine</st1:city></st1:place> that aims to exchange ideas and experience and foster interaction between the different participants which would result in the formation of the future of public relations in the country. Participants will include experts, academics and practitioners in the field of public relations in addition to workers in the field of media and press, advertisement companies, newspapers, print houses, theaters, TV and radio stations, as well as experts in marketing, internet-based advertisement, multimedia, information technology, press agencies and many others.

The participants will be focusing on discussing and employing the latest developments and new concepts in the field of public relations on the local, regional and international levels alike. This will be achieved through hosting researchers, experts and public relations practitioners to present their research and studies on the various topics that will be discussed at the conference.

The Organizing Committee has already invited specialists and researchers to submit their work papers and studies on different fields in media and public relations. The organizers seek to organize a unique and result-oriented meeting that would win the participants' trust and admiration. The conference will comprise a variety of academic, scientific and cultural activities. It is expected to attract local, regional and international participants and will be an exceptional event on the national level whether in terms of economical or political significance or through the variety of participation and richness in topics it will contain.

Speaking about this conference, the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, commented on the arrangements that are being made to bring this event to life saying that the field of public relations today has been regarded as an important element in any institution since communication has developed drastically in the last century to the extent that contact between different cultures has become inevitable. This fact means that having strong and solid-based public relations is key to ensuring the success of any communication process today.

The field of Public relations as a career is in high demand nowadays, thus, it is very important to support those who work in this field. At a local level, public relations is necessary to ensure that national development is possible.

Mr. Khaled Al-Tamimi, General Director of Masters Co., mentioned that the conference will host international experts in the field of public relations, meaning that local practitioners will benefit from the experience and ideas that international experts are going to present at the conference. They will employ those ideas and experience in expanding public relations development further in <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Palestine</st1:place></st1:city>.
