PCDIC Organizes a Series of Lectures on Poison Management
Under the supervision of the Poison Control and Drug Information Center, PCDIC, and in collaboration with the school of pharmacology, graduate students in the clinical pharmacy program gave several professional lectures regarding the management of poisoning which results from contact with some of the most commonly encountered poisons. The lectures were given at Alwatani Governmental Hospital as part of the activities organized for poison prevention week and consistent with the theme of continuous education embraced by the center. Lectures were attended by the Hospital Director, Dr. Husam Al-Johari, Head of the Pediatric Department, Dr. Hasan Fitian, Mr. Saed Al-Zyoud, Poison Information Specialist, various chairmen of clinical departments, and a large number of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and interested staff members.
The topics were discussed as follows:
- Sana' Al-Aqad: current recommendations in the management of organophosphate overdoses
- Iman Tameim: methods of decontamination
