The Poison Control and Drug Information Center (PCDIC) in cooperation with the Community Service Center (CSC) organized a workshop in the field of poison prevention at Sabastia village.  The activity was conducted at the village hall.  Among the attendees was Dr. Sa’ed Zyoud (poison and drug information specialist), Afnan Hassan (psychological health expert), Mohammad Jeitan (social service expert), and Rana Hiwary (educational specialist), in addition to experts from the CSC and interested women from the village.  This activity comes in parallel with the activities that CSC has been conducting in the towns of north of Nablus.<o:p></o:p>

In his lecture, Dr. Zyoud talked about poisons, how poisoning happens, forms of poisons, and many examples on this issue.  Then he talked about methods to prevent poisoning, especially accidental poisoning.  Dr. Zyoud emphasized that children are more vulnerable to poisoning and consequently parents should take all possible actions to prevent injury to their children by toxic products in safe places. <o:p></o:p>

Dr. Zyoud advised the audience on what to do in cases of poisoning and briefed them about the PCDIC and services it provides to both general public and health care professionals.  At the end of the workshop, Dr. Zyoud expressed his thanks to CSC at An-Najah National University for its humanitarian program that is conducting at Sabastia and other villages north of Nablus.  He also expressed the willingness of the PCDIC and its staff to cooperate with all sectors of the society. <o:p></o:p>
