On April 7th, the Department of French at An-Najah University organized a celebration for the Francophonie at Martyr Zafer Al-Masri Auditorium, Old Campus. Attendees included representatives of the University and the French Consulate General, in addition to a number of students and others.


Veronique Mago, Head of the French Department at An-Najah, gave a speech in which she welcomed the attendants she also thanked the University for its contribution to hold this celebration and valued the French Consulate’s participation with the students in this event.

Ms. Chantal Juge, Coordinator of French Language at the French Consulate General in Jerusalem, said she was pleased to participate in the celebration for the third time at the University and stressed the importance of cooperation between the Consulate General and the University in the various cultural events.


The first part of the celebration included a show titled “Belgium in Words and Pictures”, the “My Philosophy Choral” by singer Amal Bint, a poem titled “In Jerusalem”, in addition to the “TV” play and the “Rebel Students” rap dance. The second part included the “I Want” choral by singer Zaz and a poem titled “Ritta” in addition to a stage performance that depicted a Palestinian wedding ceremony.
