Local associations and companies and representatives of various ministries and non-governmental organisations took part in the Scientific Research Centres' second conference, which took place in both Ramallah and Nablus. Dr Sulaima Khaleel, the Coordinator of the Scientific Research Centres, said the scientific centres have an important role to play in bringing the sustainable development in the community and the construction of its infrastructure.
The university has 15 centres working in different fields serving the local community. Professor Maher Natsheh, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, said that one of the main missions of the scientific centres is to plan strategies and conduct researches that will help in the implementation of social development in different fields, such as water, environment, regional planning, health, transportation, democracy, human rights and social services.
