On November 4^th 2010, the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University organized a workshop in which Professor Jawad Fatayer, President Assistant for Graduate Affairs, lectured on leadership and decision making. The workshop was organized as part of the programs and activities that the office of the President Assistant for Graduate Affairs carries out to equip university students with the skills that would enable them to perform effectively in the work field and meet the needs of the local market.

 

The workshop also focused on discussing the graduate's personal competency, as well as his / her decision making and leadership skills. Professor Fatayer spoke about leadership and decision making and their role in shaping the graduate's personality and prepare him / her to take their place in the work market.

 

He also emphasized that the aim of holding such workshops and lectures is to prepare students professionally so as to provide the Palestinian market with qualified graduates that can show distinguished skills on the personal and professional levels alike. Those activities also aim to support graduates with a competitive advantage that would enable them to meet the demands of the modern world.

 

He added that familiarizing graduates with such skills and teaching them how to become competent workers in the future will guarantee that they will make significant changes in their society. It is important to instill a globally-oriented way of thinking among graduates in Palestine since this will make them compete on global scale.

 

The workshop is part of a series of workshops that are planned to be organized this semester for graduates on different topics related to their after-graduation life and how to prepare them for their future career and work environment.
