Opening of the 9th Annual Book Fair at An-Najah Library
The 9th Annual Book Fair, organized by An-Najah Libraries, was opened today by Prof. Rami Hamdallah, the University President. During the opening, President Hamdallah thanked the administration of the library, its entire staff, and all those who contributed to the preparation of the fair.
He also reiterated that the fair is of great importance because it allows all researchers and students to complete their research and make use of the available resources at the library in general and in this fair specifically. The opening was attended by a number of the Board of Trustees members, Mr. Hani Jabr, the Director of the Libraries at University, in addition to a number of the faculties’ Deans, Heads of Departments, staff members and students.
Mr. Jabr thanked the University's administration represented by the members of the Board of Trustees and Prof. Hamdallah for helping in the efforts to develop the University by providing all the necessary support to its various departments. He also indicated also that the new library building in the new campus is the product of a continuous, persistent efforts by Prof. Hamdallah and the University Administration to reach into a highly developed library Systems.
He also pointed out that this Fair wouldn’t come without the hard work of the Library staff who made great efforts to ensure its success. Mr. Jabr also pointed out that this fair comes as part of the nation-wide celebrations of “Jerusalem asthe Capital of Arab Culture.”
The fair will continue until April 26th, 2009. It opens for visitors from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.
