Naser Idais, Media Advisor for U.S. Consulate, Visits An-Najah
On Tuesday, October 1st, 2013, Naser Idais, Media Advisor for the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem, held a training workshop for students in coordination with the Department of Public Relations and the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences.
Naser Idais addressed a number of themes, most notably freedom of the press in the U.S. and the legal foundations of press freedom. The students examined the nature of the relationship between the president and journalists, along with the rules of privacy in journalism.
Additionally, Mr. Idais discussed the relationship between journalists and government spokespersons. He illustrated using his experiences working in this field with the U.S. Consulate.
The workshop aimed at educating the Public Relations Department students about the nature of official and governmental media and how to deal with the Society of Journalists to ensure they can deliver their message to the public.
