On Sunday 11 May Mr. Asaad Taffal from An-Najah National University, a PhD student on a scholarship to Poland, participated in the International Young Scholars Conference alongside a large number of academics, sociologists and politicians from different countries.

Mr. Taffal presented a paper entitled “The Relations between Poland and Palestine”, which was warmly received by fellow academics, professionals and attendees.

In his presentation he talked about the strong historic relations between Palestine and Poland in the different political, economic, cultural, religious, tourist and educational fields.

Mr. Taffal indicated that the distinct relations between the two countries is developing more by the day through the meetings that are being held, and the agreements that are being signed, in the different fields, including the Polish scholarships offered to the Palestinian people. 

The paper also talked about the twinning agreements between Palestinian and Polish cities, such as that between the Polish city of Poznan and the beautiful city of Nablus, A combination of two cities with a very rich civilization and history that measure up to world’s historical cities.

-  Mr. Taffal is an instructor in the Sociology Department who is currently on a PhD scholarship to Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland through the Erasmus Mundus Exchange Programme.
