The Public Relations Department, the English Department and the Languages Center at the University organized a lecture on "The English Language and the Indo-European Hypothesis" presented by Professor Thomas Heffernan, Professor of Medieval Literature and English Linguistics at the University of Tennessee in USA. Professor Heffernan discussed the rich variety of languages that exists in the world and he spoke about their origins, noting how the range of linguistic systems contributes to cultural diversity.
In his introduction, Dr. Nabil Alawi, Director of the Public Relations Department, welcomed the visiting professor and spoke about the importance of maintaining good ties with other universities to empower academic and cultural exchange.
