Lecture is delivered on Breast Cancer Diagnosis for the faculties of Nursing and Midwifery

On Wednesday, 25th of November 2009, and in cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine at An Najah National University and the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Dr. Rami Al-Zagha, Dean Assistant of the Faculty of Medicine for the elementary stage, delivered a lecture on breast cancer diagnosis methods for the faculties of Nursing and Midwifery of the Ministry of Health. The lecture was organized through a workshop within the activities of the Social Midwifery Project funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in order to reinforce the issue of breast cancer in the curricula of both Nursing and Midwifery at Ibn Sina Faculty and other universities and faculties throughout Palestine.
The lecture focused on the methods used for breast cancer diagnosis, as well as the methods adopted to detect the illness as early as possible and prevent the spread of the disease. At the end of the lecture, the organizers of the workshop thanked the University’s Administration and the Faculty of Medicine for organizing scientific courses such as this one, that aim to contribute towards the development of the educational and medical standards in the country's various institutions.
It is important to mention that the Faculty of Medicine at An Najah National University provides the local society with medical examinations that facilitate the detection and diagnosis of breast cancer through Pathology laboratories that are available at the Faculty.
