Dr. Udo Kock, IMF Resident Representative in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, lectured in the Zafer Al-Masri Auditorium of An-Najah University, on Tuesday 5th of March, 2013. Staff and students from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences attended the lecture.

Dr. Kock discussed the establishment and development of the International Monetary Fund and spoke about its technical assistance programs in various fields all over the world. He emphasized that the IMF seeks global financial stability.

 According to Dr. Kock, formulating financial and economic policies are amongst the most important challenges facing the Palestinian National Authority. He discussed important topics such as poverty, unemployment and the fiscal deficit in the PNA's budget.

There was an open discussion at the end of the lecture and Dr. Kock took audience inquiries. The International Relations Office and the Faculty of Economics organized the lecture.
