Prof. Rami Hamdallah, the president of the University, expressed his deepest thanks for the German government for its support for the Palestinian people.  Prof. Hamdallah added that "the German Day" in An-Najah reflects the University’s active role to participate more aggressively in a global cooperation and thus facilitate international academic relationships. "It is evident that the An-Najah is indeed striving to promote international participation so that the University is associated with excellent learning as well as international outlooks," Prof. Hamdalalh said.  He also emphasized the need for the expansion of opportunities for the ongoing and future academic collaboration and cooperation between the University and German institutions.

Mr. Jorg Ranau, the German Representative to the Palestinian Authority, said that Germany does its best to support the Palestinian education sector as well as to promote the further development of the Middle East peace process.  "The Palestinian universities are one of our main partners in this endeavor," he added.  Mr. Ranau stressed that Germany will continue to support the Palestinian people and he underlined Germany's commitment to the vision of peace and development in the Middle East.
