The Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology in Nablus participated in a series of workshops that was organized by the British Council between March 28th and 31st in Jericho alongside many vocational and technical education institutions and institutions from the private sector.

In the first day Mr. Eyad Al-Bishawi, Head of the Information Technology Department at Hijjawi, in addition to engineers Muhammad Zahlan and Munif Qaffaf participated in the workshop which included the information technology sector and the vocational and technical education institutions.

In the second day, Dr. Amer Massad and Engineer Muhammad Al-Atrash participated in the workshop that included the pharmaceutical industries sector and the vocational and technical education institutions.

Meanwhile, the third workshop discussed the relationship with the industry sector in which Dr. Waleed Kukhun, Head of the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Department, and Engineer Al-Atrash participated. Dr. Salameh Abdel Fattah and Engineer Fu’ad Daoud participated in the final workshop which combined both the marble and stone industry sector and the vocational and technical faculties.

The workshops focused on the necessity to maintain communication and contact between the Palestinian private sector and the different vocational and technical education institutions. The participants in the workshops recommended the following: training and employing graduates, calling upon the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labor to focus on reinforcing this relationship and achieve mutual cooperation in order to rise with the Palestinian society and develop it in various fields.

The participants thanked the British Council for its interest in organizing such activities which aim to develop the cooperation and interaction between the educational institutions and the private sector in Palestine.
