The German Agency for Technical Cooperation, GTZ, and An-Najah signed an agreement to prepare the strategic plan to develop the infrastructure of Ramalah, Al-Bireh and Bitonia Cities. The agreement was signed in the German House in Ramallah by Mr Frank Samol, Municipal Development Project, the Team Leader and Dr Sulaiman Khalil, Coordinator of the Scientific Centers at the University.
The project aims to develop the infrastructure of the mentioned region in the fields of health, solid waste management, dumpsites and sewage water. It also aims to develop the level of the offered services such as water and electricity. The project will last for fourteen months and experts from the University and Universal Group (UG) are involved in the project.
Dr Khalil said, that this is a vital project for the central West Bank region. The University will implement the project to its best ability and hopes that other parts of the Palestinian Territories will receive similar projects, especially undeveloped regions in Hebron and Northern West Bank towns.
