The University celebrated the graduation of the final group of students of the 27^th Commencement. Four hundred students completing their degrees in the summer course of 2007 were honored in a ceremony in the amphitheatre in the new campus presiding over by the Chairperson and Members of the Board of Trustees, the University President, Faculty members and families of the graduates.
The audience was treated to a performance by the Palestinian Super Star, Ammar Hasan, who sang songs for Palestine. This is the first time the University has held a graduation ceremony for summer course graduates. In June 2007, a ceremony was held for 1,700 students and the increase in the number of students graduating each year required an additional ceremony.
The University opened the 2007/08 academic year in late August with the registration of 16,400 students to all its faculties. Ten thousand students benefited from the soft loan services offered to needy students, an indication of the economic difficulties the majority of students face.
