On Thursday 12 June, Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah, received a delegation of German academics from various disciplines.

At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Natsheh welcomed the delegates and gave them an overview of An-Najah and the different academic programmes it offers. He also welcomed cooperation with the German universities. He emphasized that An-Najah is the top university in Palestine, the 8th in the Arab World, and among the best %5 of World universities, according to the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. This success, Professor Natsheh added, comes despite the financial hardships that face higher education in Palestine.

He then went on to talk about the mechanism of admissions to the university, which revolves around meeting the requirements of the local and regional job markets to insure the best outcomes of the educational process. Then he thanked the German government for its support of the Palestinian people.

In turn, the head of the visiting delegation commended An-Najah University and the entrepreneurship it has achieved in the local community, and thanked Professor Natsheh and An-Najah for the hospitality they have received. He also emphasized the delegation's interest in advancing relations between An-Najah National University and German universities in various academic fields.

The ranking is published by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) located in Madrid.
