A Japanese delegation visited the university and met with University President Prof. Rami Hamdallah, as well as Prof. Maher Natsheh, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nabil Alawi, Director of the Public Relations Department, Dr. Sulaiman Khalil, Coordinator of the Scientific Centers, Dr. Ayda Al-Qaisi, Dean of Nursing, Dean of the Faculty of Optometry, Dr. Ansam Sawalha, Director of the Poison Control and Drug Information Center, Dr. Ali Habaieb, Dean of Faculty of Educational Sciences and Dr. Husni Maqbul, Dean of Human Medicine Faculty and Dr. Bassim Makhool Professor of Economics.
The meeting began with an introduction by Dr. Nabil Alawi, Director of the Public Relations Department, who welcomed the Japanese guests and introduced the University participants.
Prof. Hamdallah briefed his guests on the latest developments at the University and spoke about the newly established programs. He also highlighted the impact of the current political situation on the academic life in Palestine.
The Japanese delegation gave presentations on the following themes: Japan's New Eurasian Strategy and Middle East Diplomacy (Professor Masayuki Yamauchi); From Post-War Reconstruction to East Asian Community Building: Japan’s Experiences (Professor Shinichi Kitaoka); and the Challenges of Education and Culture in Japan in the 21st Century (Professor Atsuko Toyama).
The An-Najah National University presentations included: Challenges of Higher Education in Palestine (Prof. Maher Natsheh); The Socio-economic Indicator of the Occupied (Prof Bassim Makhool), An Assessment of the Sociopolitical Landscape (Dr. Sulaiman Khalil). Both university parties discussed the fields of cooperation and prospective projects of cooperation.
