A seminar that promotes drug prevention in Palestine was held at the Faculty of Nursing, co-sponsored by the University's Faculty of Nursing and the Good Friends Association.  The seminar participants include teachers and  students from the Faculty of Nursing.
The participants were trained on how to use the drug prevention methodologies with students.   The seminar also included a discussion on how to best implement the drug prevention program in the community.  Dr. Aida Qaisi, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, said that there are several reasons behind drug abuse, requiring comprehensive and creative solutions.  "This seminar reflects on the University's efforts and measures undertaken to fight the drug problem and to look ahead to the next years to anticipate the enormous challenges that our Palestinian society will be facing," she added.
"Education in general is essential to create a positive environment for drug prevention," Dr. Qaisi noted.   Participants in the seminar noted that the seminar is a worthy and serious educational initiative that will help peoples make informed decisions, and promote efforts at spreading the anti-drug message and in promoting drug-free lifestyles in Palestine.
