The Second International Medical Conference was opened at An-Najah National University under the title "Women Health Care". The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Rami Hamdallah, University President, Dr. Omar Nasr, the representative of HE. Dr. Fathi Abu Mughli, Minister of Health, Dr. Jawad Awad, Head of Physicians Union, Prof. Anwar Dudeen, Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine and Coordinator of the Conference.

Dr. Khalil Issa, chair of the steering committee, and Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs at the Faculty of Human Medicine, thanked the University's Administration for the great efforts to carry out the conference.  He said that the conference manifests the full commitment and hard work to elevate and develop human medicine in Palestine.

 Prof. Rami Hamdallah, University President, in his remarks, said that this conference follows the success of the first conference. He pointed out that the University works hard, through its Faculty of Human Medicine, for the promotion of health care, especially for women.
Prof. Hamdallah talked about the University Teaching Hospital which will provide distinctive medical care. 
Mr. Romano Brudi, Former Italian Prime Minister, expressed his delight to be in the city of Nablus and to visit An-Najah National University.  He pointed out that health care is central in sustainable human development.  Dr. Jawad Awad said that Union is working hard with all concerned institutions to develop health sector in Palestine.

Dr. Anwar Dudeen thanked all participants and workers at the Faculty for their distinctive efforts in preparing for this event.  He talked about the efforts to establish the University Teaching Hospital  that needs national and international support.

Dr. Omar Nasr, Director of Public and International Relations and the representative to Minister of Health, talked about the continuous cooperation between of the Ministry and An-Najah National University. He noted that an agreement was signed between An-Najah National University and the Ministry of Health concerning the Teaching Hospital that will contribute in providing the best medical services in Palestine.  It is worth noting that the conference will include lectures and workshops on issues related to women health care.
