On October 19th 2010, Dr. Sami Zaid Al-Kilani from the Department of Elementary Education at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at An-Najah has won the Director's Prize for Outstanding Doctoral Research in Social Work. The Prize's value was 1,000 USD and was presented by the McGill School of Social Work at McGill University. McGill is a research university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
 

 
The Prize is presented to the graduating PhD student with the most outstanding research record. Professor Jim Torczyner, Professor of Social Work at McGill and the Founder and Director of the McGill Middle East Program (MMEP), expressed his pleasure to have Dr. Al Kilani as the winner of the Director's Prize and added that Dr. Al Kilani's hard work and efforts during his PhD fellowship at McGill were substantial and outstanding.
 
Professor Torczyner also congratulated An-Najah University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, for Dr. Al Kilani's distinguished work in the filed of social work and said that this achievement brings great credit to the University, Palestine and the regional MMEP network.
 
The MMEP provides a two-year Fellowship to persons in the forefront of civil society and peace building in Jordan, and Palestine. The Fellowships focus on interdisciplinary practice in the fields of social work and social welfare, access to law and respect for human rights.
