Between the 22^nd and 27^th of January, Dr. Riyad Abdel Kareem from the Department of Civil Engineering at An-Najah participated in the 64^th annual conference of the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) which was organized in Bangkok, Thailand. Delegations from more than 83 different countries participated in the event.

Commenting on his participation, Dr. Abdel Kareem said he represented the University and Palestine in this international meeting which he described as a chance to activate the University’s relationship with the international community. By developing its relationship with the IAESTE, the University will be able to provide its students with opportunity to receive training in the different scientific fields, thus, reinforcing their knowledge and experience.

The conference included holding several meetings with the representatives of the different participating delegations where discussions regarding mutual cooperation in the field of engineering, science, biology, biochemistry, veterinary medicine and optometry took place.

The IAESTE is an international association that is concerned with the exchange of students for technical work experience abroad. It was founded in 1948 at Imperial College in London. Since then, it has grown to include more than 80 countries and has exchanged more than 300,000 students so far. The IAESTE aims to link students with employers around the world and provide them with technical work experience.
