An-Najah National University is always proud of its highly qualified and forgoing staff of excellence not the last of them Dr. Alaa Azmi Sheikh, a Palestinian orthopedic and pediatric orthopedic surgeon and the only spine pediatric orthopedic surgeon in Palestine, a member of the Department of Medicine staff at An-Najah University and a member in the pediatric and pediatric spine societies in Europe and USA.  He has been doing orthopedic surgeries for 15 years and spine surgeries for 10 years for children in Palestine.

During his participation in the 5^th Annual Meeting of ICEOS (International Congress for Early Onset Scoliosis) that was held in Orlando , Florida , the four-rib construct that he did here in Palestine with more than 45 cases was popularized as the ONLY solution that can be used to solve the problem of early onset scoliosis with upper thoracic kyphosis. A fact that was made clear through Dr. David Skaggs’s statement (The most experienced surgeon in the rib construct and the chief of the pediatric Orthopedic dept. in Children’s hospital in Los Angeles) who said that no way beside the 4 rib construct can solve the difficult problems that he showed.

Also, another pediatric Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Greory Mencio ( a full professor in Nashville ) who presented one of Dr. Alaa cases with kyphoscoliosis and neurofibromatosis whom Dr. Alaa treated here in Palestine with the four-rib construct as an example of the solution that we can offer for this difficult problem that only this construct can solve .

Also, he was invited to MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) to deliver a 45-minute speech to the Orthopedic staff about his experience with this new construct and the applications for it”.
