The Palestinian Geographical Society organized a meeting at the headquarter of the Civil Retiree Society in Ramallah in conjunction with the meeting of the General Body of the Society in Gaza at Al-Azhar University. After reading the financial and administrative reports of the former constituent body of the Society Dr. Saqer Al-Hurub, President of the Society, submitted the resignation of the Constituent Body and directed the General Body session and announced that the nomination for the new administrative board has started.

Elections took place and the results were as such:

Dr. Ahmed Ghodieh as President of the Palestinian Geographical Society, Dr. Ahmed Dahlan from Al-Azhar University as Vice President, Dr. Ahmed Ghareeb from Hebron University as the Society’s Secretary in the West Bank, Dr. Mansour Al-louh from Al-Azhar University as the Society’s Secretary in Gaza, Dr. Hussein Al-Remawi from Birzeit University as Chairman of the Scientific and Cultural Committee in the West Bank, Dr. Ashraf Abu Shaqfa from the Islamic University as Assistant Chairman of the Scientific and Cultural Committee, Mr. Khalil Amro from Birzeit University as the Society’s Treasurer in the West Bank, Dr. Sabri Al-Toum from the Islamic University as the Society’s Treasurer in Gaza, Mr. Jaber Al-Hallaq from Al-Quds University as Chairman of the Membership Committee, Dr. Ahmed Taha from the An-Najah- the Membership Committee, and finally Dr. Fayez Abu Setteh from Al-Quds University as Chairman of the Media and Public Relations Committee.
