Director of the Poison Center delivers a lecture about how to deal with poisoning cases in the Palestinian Medical Relief

Dr. Ansam Sawalha, director of the Poison Control and Drug Information Center at An Najah National University, delivered a lecture for a number of workers and volunteers in the clinics and medical centers of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society. The lecture comes within the Center's message to expand awareness regarding poisoning. An introduction about poisons had been presented along with an explanation of treatment mechanisms, the way poisoning is treated through the mouth, the prevention of extra poison absorption as well as poisoning via inhalation, injection and skin.
After that, Dr. Sawalha talked about the Poison Center, its establishment and the services that it offers and presented a statistical summary of the cases that the center has received. Plans to include these statistics of the specialized center on the World Health Organization's website were also mentioned. Finally, the audience thanked An Najah National University and Dr. Sawalha for the valuable lecture. Dr. Sawalha in turn thanked the audience for their interest in the lecture.
