The Department of Nutrition and Food Industry recently visited the Palestinian Food Industry Exhibition (“Our Food 2013”) under the supervision of Mr. Mohammad Sabah and Dr. Mohammad Tamimi. The delegation included 25 students from different classes.

The An-Najah delegation discussed possible ways to enable local products to compete with foreign products with companies participating in the exhibition. They also discussed how to improve cooperation between the participating companies and the university to provide current students with opportunities to train in their factories and graduates of the department with employment opportunities. The companies expressed their admiration for the students’ scientific and practical knowledge. Most of the companies participating in the exhibition met with the students. Al Juneidi Factory, Al Jabrini Factory, Al Qasrawi Company, Al Arz Ice Cream Company, Al Mahsii Food Company, Bravo Company, Al Sanabel Company, Al Pinar Company, Sinokrot Company, and Al Sa’rawi Company, among other companies, attended.

During the tour, the delegation met with Mr. Bassam Walweel, President of the Palestinian Food Industries Union, who expressed the Union's readiness to provide all that is needed for the success of the students’ training in the factories. In addition, the delegation met with the Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Dr. Laila Ghannam. Finally, this year’s exhibition was particularly special because, unlike previous years, more than 30 women’s associations also participated in the exhibition.
