Professor Stig-Arne Nohrstedt, Professor of Media and Communication, and Professor Roland Stanbridge, Director of the Masters in Global Journalism at Örebro University in Sweden visited the University on the 1^st and 2^nd October. They met the University President, Professor Rami Hamdalla, who discussed with them setting up a mechanism for exchanging students and faculty members, in particular those in the fields of media and journalism.
A discussion on organizing an international conference on the Media in War and Peace was also held. Such a conference aims to strengthen the dialogue between academics and journalists from Palestine and Europe.
Meetings with students were organized for the Swedish guests. Students spoke about the impact of the siege and closure on their rights to education. Another visit was paid to the Journalism Department were the guests were informed of the department's efforts to overcome the troubles resulting from the lack of equipment for training.
