The Google Technologies User Group at An-Najah University (Nablus GTUG) hosted David Renie, Software Engineer at Google Company who spoke to the students about life at Google and the many privileges that employees have there. The meeting aimed to introduce the students to the Company’s work and environment so as to encourage them to excel in their university study and work hard to qualify to work at Google.

Moreover, he explained the application mechanism at Google and the steps that students need to follow after applying to the Company which include interviews and tests. He also gave pieces of advice to the audience to help them advance and excel in their field of study.

The meeting also included another lecture delivered by Asdam Stelle, an employee at Startup Weekend which is a non-profit organization that organizes different activities to help pioneers build their own companies based on ideas by students and creative individuals. He also familiarized the students with the Company’s activities and objectives.

After that, Renie delivered a lecture about the latest technologies used in creating web pages and the HTML5; he also answered the students’ questions regarding the new technologies used in the internet and information technology.

The meeting was organized through the efforts of the GTUG’s members including: Akram Dwaikat, Ahmed Yaqoub, Omar Rayyan, Bilal Qadarah, Muhammad Abu Aisheh and Abdullah Bani Odeh; the meeting was administered by Dr. Samer Al-Arandi, Supervisor of the GTUG.
