The Community Service Center (CSC) organized a festival for children with special needs and social problems. The goal behind this event was to offer some much needed psychological release and relaxation to those children who are suffering from different forms of depression.
Forty children participated in this event. It was organized by the children themselves in an effort to offer them a chance to practice leadership and boost their self-confidence. The festival program included drama, plays, Palestinian dances, songs and other activities that encourage children to smile and get motivated.
At the opening of the party Mr. Sami Alkilani, Director of the CSC, spoke on behalf of the University President and said that the University does its best to serve the local community. The University considers it part of its mission to offer its facilities to people in need, and sponsoring this festival is one way of reaching out. In his speech, Mr. Alkilani thanked a number of local Nabulsi organizations and everyone who offered their support to the CSC and the children it serves; he also thanked the Palestinian Orphan Support Association in Germany, which offers aid to Palestinian orphan children living in the Nablus area.
