The participants in the Ninth National Children’s Conference which was organized at An-Najah University by the Defense for Children International-Palestine Branch called for establishing a protection network for children and a juvenile police in all cities in Palestine, in addition to conducting studies and surveys in order to identify the various violations against children.

Moreover, they called for more coordination and networking between the different governmental and non-governmental institutions in the country so as to develop a specialized and integrated system that would help in enforcing regulations that can handle the different needs and rights of the Palestinian children.

Additionally, the participants recommended developing the care and rehabilitation institutions to help them cope with the psychological, health and social needs of the children and guarantee their right to education and integration into the society.

The Conference lasted for two days and consisted of a number of sessions that addressed several issues including the professional responsibility in child protection, the role of the school in protecting and reinforcing the rights of the children, the role of the official and governmental institutions in protecting the rights of the children, the role of the civil society in respecting and supporting the rights of children, as well as the role of the society and the school in protecting the rights of the children with disability.
