Completing the First Part of the Faculty of Engineering's New Floor
On August 24th 2101, works on the first part of the new floor of the Faculty of Engineering have been completed which spanned over several months. The Faculty's new floor consists of three levels. The first level hosts the academic and administrative staff offices; the second level contains engineering drawing rooms, while the third level includes computer labs and teaching halls. By adding this floor, the Faculty's space becomes more than 17,000 square meters.
Dr. Nabil Dmaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University, said that this expansion in the Faculty's building comes in response to the recent developments that the Faculty has witnessed and the new departments that were recently introduced such as the Communication Engineering and Mechatroncis Engineering Departments in addition to the Architectural Planning Department which will be added soon. This makes the number of Bachelor programs at the Faculty around 11 with 7 Master programs as well.

Dr. Dmaidi thanked the University Administration represented by its president, Prof. Rami Hamdallah for the continuous support and supervision that the Administration provided. He also emphasized that the Faculty will continue to develop and expand so as to cope wit the new developments and additions that the Faculty witnesses. The Faculty has grown larger, in terms of students and the addition of new departments and academic programs, thus, it became necessary to expand the Faculty in order to cope with such changes.
Dr. Dmaidi further mentioned that the number of students who have successfully majored in the Faculty's specializations have been more than 600 students in addition to more than 850 new students who have joined the Faculty after graduating from high school. The acceptance rate has reached 90 % this year due to the Faculty's new programs and the variety of departments it contains.
