Announcing the Names of the Winners of An-Najah Research Award 2011
On June 6th, the names of the winners of An-Najah Research Award for the year 2011 were announced during a special ceremony that was held at the Applied Science University in Amman, Jordan in cooperation with An-Najah Liaison Office in Amman. The two winners of An-Najah Research Award this year were researcher Dr. Hisham Al-Matubsi from the Applied Science University in Amman, and Dr. Hisham Al-Anani from Cairo University in Egypt.
Attendees to the ceremony included: Professor Ghassan Saffarini, Dean of Scientific Research at An-Najah University, as representative of An-Najah President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, Professor Shafeeq Haddad, Dean of Scientific Research at the Applied Science University in Amman, Dr. Suhair Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Applied Science University, Dr. Hisham Al-Matubsi, as well as many Arab researchers.
Dr. Saleh presented a speech in which she congratulated the two winning researchers and emphasized the importance of scientific research and its role in supporting education and coping with the rapid development and advancement in the medical and scientific fields.
Professor Saffarini presented a speech in which he thanked An-Najah President for his efforts to support scientific research. He also emphasized the importance of scientific research in serving the society and solving its different problems. Moreover, Professor Saffarini said it is very necessary to support scientific research on all levels and in all fields of life. He pointed out that An-Najah University achieved unique ranks recently by the Webometrics which ranked it first in Palestine, fifth in the Arab world and number 1011 internationally from among hundreds of universities around the world.
Additionally, Professor Saffarini spoke about An-Najah University, its development, and the progress it achieved over the last years.
Dr. Al-Matubsi presented a speech in which he thanked the Applied Science University and An-Najah University for their continuous support of researchers. Prof. Hamdallah, President of An-Najah University congratulated the two winner, Dr. Al-Matubsi and Dr. Al-Anani for their achievement and encouraged other Palestinian and Arab researchers to take part in scientific research and present their contributions to the world. Prof. Hamdallah added that An-Najah Research Award is an annual event that is organized by An-Najah University to support scientific research.
