An-Najah won the first and the third prize in the Literature gathering of the Arab University Students that was held in the University of Emirates in Al-Ein City/ United Arab Emirates. Under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan Al-Nahyan, the Education Minister and the Head of the Emirates University, the gathering brought together students work in theatre, short stories and other literature fields from 22 universities of 18 Arab countries.

Palestine was represented by Beirzet University and An-Najah National University that won the first prize for the short story given to the student Rasha Abu Hniesh from the English Department and the third prize for the short story given to the student Nuha Ghannam from the Journalism Department, Abu Hniesh expressed her happiness for the achievement and added how she feels that this prize gives her a push to continue her work, she also thanked everybody who encouraged her and helped her to achieve this, Ghannam thanked the university administration and especially the Public Relations Department and the Students Affairs Department who made it possible for her to participate with her fellow young writers in this cultural event.

Dr. Rami Hamdallah, The University President, said he is proud of the achievement and added that the university encourages all young talent to take part in Arab and international scientific and cultural events.
