An-Najah University Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Calabria University in Italy
July 12th. An-Najah National University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Calabria University in Italy as part of the meeting that was held in the city of Lecce for the UNIMED. The agreement was signed by Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah, and Professor Giovanni Latorre, President of Calabria University.
The agreement aims to promote and expand international development understanding and friendship through stimulation and support of educational, professional and intercultural activities and projects that involve students, staff and professors of both An-Najah and Calabria.
In addition, the agreement consists of several articles whereby the two parties would establish cooperative agreements for research and teaching activities in fields to be agreed between the two universities. These activities would include joint research, projects and publications to be developed through research linkages of individual faculty members.
Other articles include: Exchanging academic staff and students regularly and to develop new forms of cooperation which can include summer courses and short courses, as well as agreements on joint degree programs. Moreover, the two sides will several tools to achieve the goals of the agreement such as: Having faculty staff members and graduate and undergraduate students carry on programs of research and study with credit recognition, academic information and materials in fields of mutual interest, and finally scholars for lectures, talks, conferences and symposia.
According to this agreement, also, the two parties would be executing joint activities to arrange specific visits and exchanges, as well as for other forms of cooperation will be negotiated and agreed in writing for each specific case.
