An-Najah University Participates in the Summer Gathering for Public Health Held in Norway
Between 11th and 18th of July, An-Najah University participated in the intensive summer course in the field of public health which was held in Oslo, Norway. The University was represented by the fifth year students at the Faculty of Medicine, Hisham Hussein and Abdullah Hamadneh. More than 50 participants from over 22 countries took part in the course.

The course was organized at the University of Oslo by a number of experts in the field of public health in Norway. The course included lectures, team work, studies and field visits; lecturers from the Ministry of Health in Norway and the World Health Organization were also hosted.
During the course, a number of international agreements in the field of public health were discussed, in addition to explaining the determinants of health trends, the health system in Norway, the public health systems and the ethical considerations in public health.
Both Hussein and Hamadneh delivered a presentation in which they spoke about the health status and the health insurance system in Palestine, in addition to the extent to which the Israeli occupation influenced public health in the country. The two students also presented a documentary about the Palestinian cause.
At the end of the course, an oral test was set to assess the participants’ performance; Hussein and Hamadneh gained the highest scores (A) in addition to 7 points from the European Points System.
