June22nd. The University-based Palestinian Encyclopedia issued the first four issues of the Palestine Scientists and Notables Encyclopedia which include translations of more than 35 of Palestine scientists and notables.

Professor Yahya Jaber said that this Encyclopedia contains different kinds of material that are linked to Palestine’s land and man, overcoming the limits of time and space. The Encyclopedia is divided into several chapters based on subject in that one chapter talks about Palestine’s scientists and notables over the course of history regardless of their faith, approaches, beliefs, and political attitudes. Another chapter contained Palestine’s historical treasury and Palestine’s geographical treasury.

Professor Jaber also mentioned that other chapters contain the Palestinian folk art, in addition to any other items or aspects of the traditional Palestinian life. Moreover, a special chapter was dedicated to information and data related to Jerusalem.

Furthermore, Professor Jaber called upon Palestinians to contribute to the enrichment of this Encyclopedia through offering whatever information they have which they deem as valuable, relevant and significant.

He added that the University aims through this project to document the history of Palestine’s people and land based on its feeling of responsibility toward the country and its long history.
