An-Najah signs an agreement of cooperation with L’Université Lille 2 Droit et Santé in France
An-Najah National University and L’Université Lille 2 Droit et Santé in France signed a mutual agreement of academic cooperation today to formalize their educational relationship in an effort to advance cooperation between the two Universities and to enhance academic cooperation, especially in the domains of human medicine.
Under the agreement, signed by President Rami Hamdallah and Dr. Samar Mesmar, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and representatives of the city of Lille and L’Université Lille 2 Droit et Santé, both universities will cooperate in the realization of joint research projects, exchange of academic staff and students, scholarships, organization of conferences and seminars, and other academic activities.
The ceremony took place at President Hamdallah's office in An-Najah's Old Campus and was attended by Dr. Maher Natsheh, vice president for academic affairs.
"We believe that our emerging relationship while L’Université Lille 2 Droit et Santé and the city of Lille represent a very positive step in promoting a cross-cultural understanding and friendship between France and Palestine," President Hamdallah said.
He added that the agreement also provides a solid foundation for collaborative research and other forms of mutually beneficial academic cooperation especially in the fields of human medicine. President Hamdallah mentioned that An-Najah is honored to sign such an agreement of cooperation. "Establishing this collaborative agreement of cooperation with the French university is important in order to enhance the mission of An-Najah's Teaching Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine at An-Najah," he said.
