 An-Najah National University has established a new agreement of academic cooperation with the University of Cadiz in Spain (in Spanish: Universidad de Cádiz).  The cooperation agreement would encourage and support students' exchange and joint research activities between the two academic institutions.  An-Najah's students would be able to undertake postgraduate study in Spanish language at Cadiz.The agreement was signed on 3 December 2007 by An-Najah's president, Prof Rami Hamdallah, and Prof. Diego Sales Marques, the Rector of the University of Cadiz.  Dr. Nabil Alawi, the Director of the Public Relations Department, stated that this agreement comes in the framework of An-Najah's outstanding efforts to promote and strengthen the institution's academic traditions and excellence.The University of Cádiz was founded in 1979.  The Spanish university is noted for its medicine and marine sciences curricula.  It is situated in the city of Cádiz on the southwest coast of Spain.  During the 2006/2007 academic year, there were 18,199 students, 1563 lecturers, and 680 administration and services workers associated with the University.
