An-Najah National University is delighted to be hosting the International Conference on Teaching and Learning in the Digital World on 27 February 2014. The Conference is to be held under the patronage of the Prime Minister Professor Rami Hamdallah, and will host international experts in the field of electronic learning, international models and success stories from prestigious universities around the world.

The conference aims at introducing the concept of the digital world, its features, its impact on teaching and learning and how it is employed for their improvement and quality assurance. Dr. Sa’eda Affouneh, Director of the Electronic Learning Centre at An-Najah, and Head of the Conference steering committee, has stated the significance of this conference in potentially offering recommendations which would develop strategies to be implemented in all Palestinian educational institutes, where such policies do not currently exist.

This conference comes as a result of the speed of changes the world is witnessing in all aspects of life including education. As higher education seeks to respond to the challenges which have arisen from modern technological changes, An-Najah has responded by organising this conference to feed these developments in the Palestinian educational infrastructure, through discussing the latest studies and experiences in the field, both locally and internationally for the development of e-learning practices.

The conference will also be discussing the reality of electronic learning in Palestine and the employment of the digital world for the enhancement of the quality of teaching and learning. Exhibiting distinguished local and international models in e –learning, looking into the ethics of e-learning, free on-line courses (MOOC) and how electronic learning is related to sustainable development.

The conference will be held in Prince Turki Bin Abdelaziz theatre in the new campus.
