Mr.Rafi Daraghmeh, Director of the Career Unit, presented a research paper on the Role of An-Najah National University in Social Development to the Eighth International Forum held in Adrar/Algeria on 20-23 November, 2005. The Conference title was: The Role of Civic Society Associations in Developing the State. Forty researchers participated in the forum from European, Arab and Islamic Countries, and presented their papers on different topics. The conference was under the patronage of the Higher Education Minister of Algeria.
The conference focused on five dimensions: The Concept of Civic Society, the Relationship between Civic Society and the Government, the Role of Civic Society in Development, Diversity and Rights in Reference to Cultural Differences, Rights in Reference to Economical Changes and Techniques of Protecting Rights and Freedom.
Mr. Daraghmeh presented his paper on the importance of providing the local community with trained skilled graduates. He also spoke about the interest An-Najah National University takes in its graduates by establishing the Career Unit that attempts to find jobs for its graduates.
